Positive Destiantions
As a school we are focused on ensuring all pupils receive the correct personalised level of support, information and guidance to ensure transition to a positive and sustained destination. Through this work we acitvely promote a No Wrong Path message and encourage all pupils to pursue a future destination which mathces their skills, qualities and aspirations. Here we highlight the main pathways beyond school as a starting point for your consideration when thinking about your future.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn. There are countless options for modern apprenticeships along with a growing number of graduate apprenticeships. Knowing the career field you are interested in will help yu to narrow down your search for the type of apprenticeship you are looking for. Along with career guidance you receive in school we encourage all young people to carry out their own research in relation to their future. College
College allows pupils to continue their education onto further and higher levels. They offer a wide range of courses specific to further learning and specific career sectors. At Grangemouth High School, and across Falkirk Council, we engage with our local college to offer a wide range of partnership courses allowing pupils to experience college before they transition full time when they leave school. College allows pupils to further their knowledge and skills, and ulitamtely progress onto employment, further or higher education dependant on each individual.

Employment
The employment landscape is ever changing and all careers and industry sectrors are ever evolving to meet the demands of society. Whether young people are interested in full-time, part-time, or self-employment or whatever employment characteristics best suit their skills, qualities and circumstance we actively aim to support each pupils development, enabling them to make a successful transition to the world of work. We are constantly provided with information that a large number of careers that young people will carry out in future have not even been invented yet, and as a school we place a large emphasis on the skills needed to succeed beyond school and adapt to an ever changing world. Training
Another popular option for pupils moving on from school is to move on to a group or individualised training scheme. Training schemes are designed to support people of all ages develop skills, confidence and become more employable through help finding and transitioning into employment or fruther education.
University
Annually we have on average 30% of our leavers transition to higher education. Where young people will select a course that will allow them to expand their knowledge within a specifi area they are passionate about. University requires a much more indpenedant appraoch to learning and is at a level above advanced higher within school. University degrees are internationally recognised qualifications that will hold value throughout the years.
Volunteering
A number of pupils continue to volunteer alongside their future destination, or as their only post school destination. Volunteering is a way to continue to develop employability skills, to conect with ohters and be ivovled with an area you care about, generally providing a service to others.
