STA - International Learn to Swim Programme (ILSP)

Grangemouth High School is now a recognised member of the STA Swim Academy Programme as part of our aim to increase key life skills and develop the fundamentals of swimming and life-saving.

Our programme helps to challenge a wide range of abilities and aims to progress each individual to their full potential throughout their school years.

The ILSP consists of five progressive schemes which are interlinked. There is a stand alone scheme for people with disabilities, supporting awards for the more competent swimmer and diver and an introduction to the First Aid award.

STA - Junior Lifeguard Academy & Lifeguard Programme

Our Junior Lifeguard Academy allows pupils to develop the skills, knowledge and experiance to progress towards the STA Pool Lifeguard Award.

We offer the chance for any pupil aged 16+ to gain this employability qualification and increase their experience by giving them the opportunity to work along side the P.E staff and current school lifeguard.

Outdoor Learning Programme

The S1 Outdoor Education Programme is about to enter it's 3rd year of being led by the P.E Department. An outdoor learning environment can be a fantastic learning experience for pupils as well as a chance for them to engage in new activites.

The programme is co-ordinated by Falkirk Community Trust Outdoor Learning Team and Grangemouth High School Physical Education Department.

Learners have the opportunity to participate in the following activites:

  • Blo-Karting
  • Bush Craft
  • Coasteering
  • Climbing
  • Gorge Walking
  • Mountain Biking
  • Rafting
  • Canoeing
